About the Role

You will support complex commercial transactions in India and the broader APAC region, including SaaS, licensing, and strategic partnerships. You will negotiate agreements, advise business teams, monitor legal developments, localize legal materials, and manage risks involving data protection, technology, AI, privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfers.

Requirements

• Law degree
• Qualification to practice law in India
• 7+ years of relevant post-qualification legal experience
• In-house experience in technology or SaaS preferred
• Experience working for a US-based or global multinational from India
• Direct experience working with customers inside and outside India
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements
• Knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property
• Experience advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfer issues
• Communication skills
• Stakeholder management skills
• Problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements for India GTM and sales transactions
• Partner with sales, business development, and operations teams on go-to-market strategies
• Monitor and interpret regional legal and regulatory developments
• Apply legal and regulatory knowledge to contract drafting and risk assessment
• Develop, maintain, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies
• Provide practical commercial legal advice to cross-functional teams
• Contribute to scaling the Legal Team’s commercial function
