About the Role

You will support global product counseling across biometrics, digital identity, blockchain infrastructure, consumer products, online safety, and privacy-preserving technologies. You will advise product and technical teams throughout the product lifecycle, assess legal and reputational risks, draft product materials, support incident response, advise on intellectual property, and build scalable legal processes.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as product counsel
  • In-house product counseling experience preferred
  • Experience advising across the full product lifecycle
  • Knowledge of financial services, blockchain, digital identity, artificial intelligence, privacy, biometrics, consumer protection, online safety, advertising, platform governance, or intellectual property
  • Experience supporting globally distributed consumer products
  • Experience with patents, trademarks, copyright, licensing, open source software, and technology risk management
  • Ability to understand complex systems and architectures
  • Juris Doctor
  • Membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • Ability to work in person from San Francisco

Responsibilities

  • Advise product, engineering, hardware, cryptography, design, and security teams
  • Advise on digital identity, biometrics, blockchain, financial technology, privacy, and consumer protection
  • Assess legal and reputational risks of products and features
  • Develop approaches for global product launches
  • Translate legal and policy considerations into actionable guidance
  • Draft product terms, disclosures, policies, user flows, and guidance materials
  • Support incident response and product escalations
  • Advise on intellectual property issues
  • Support patent, trademark, copyright, licensing, and open source matters
  • Protect strategic innovations and inventions
  • Build legal processes, playbooks, templates, and review frameworks
  • Improve product review and launch systems
