About the Role

You will build and own hardware simulation capabilities for vehicle hardware programs. You will define load cases, establish scalable CAE processes and tools, perform structural and thermal analyses, correlate simulations with physical testing, and guide design decisions and simulation quality.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field.
  • 7+ years of CAE/FEA experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, aerospace, agriculture, construction, or defense.
  • Deep expertise with at least one major FEA suite and pre-processors.
  • Experience defining load cases and load profiles from requirements, standards, or measured data.
  • Experience managing external contractors or engineering service providers.
  • Strong grasp of structural dynamics, fatigue, and material behavior.
  • Strong understanding of correlating simulation results to physical test results.

Responsibilities

  • Define load profiles and analysis requirements for static, shock, vibration, durability, fatigue, and thermal conditions.
  • Build a scalable analysis process.
  • Evaluate, select, and deploy CAE tools.
  • Scope and manage external contractors, including statements of work, schedules, technical reviews, and deliverable quality.
  • Perform and review structural, modal, random-vibration, fatigue, and thermal analyses.
  • Correlate simulation results with physical test data and refine models and test plans.
  • Feed simulation results into early design decisions and establish design guidelines.
  • Mentor engineers and set technical standards for simulation quality.
