About the Role

You will perform structural stress and fracture analyses, develop simulation models, and predict hardware response under demanding environments. You will guide design and risk decisions, support test planning and data analysis, develop analysis methods and tools, and communicate results to technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Applied Physics, or a related engineering discipline with 10 or more years of experience, or a relevant master's degree with 8 years of experience
  • Experience with FEA software including Ansys, Femap, Nastran, or Abaqus
  • Experience with linear and non-linear static, dynamic, and elastic-stability analyses
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to define task scope and required inputs
  • Travel up to 10% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Perform stress analysis for strength, fatigue, and fracture safety margins
  • Develop computational models and simulations of structural response
  • Guide design decisions and risk-management efforts across the hardware lifecycle
  • Support hardware test design, instrumentation, execution, and data processing
  • Develop closed-form, numerical, and data-analysis tools
  • Develop and implement advanced analysis methodologies
  • Stay current with analysis techniques, materials technology, and industry practices
  • Document analysis processes and results for internal and external stakeholders
