About the Role
You will support mechanical development across vehicle components, sensor suites, compute assemblies, and interiors. You will analyze and validate designs, build test fixtures, inspect and test hardware, execute test scripts, document processes, and coordinate requirements with cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent program completed by December 2026
- Hands-on build-team experience such as Formula SAE, Baja, solar car, rocketry, or robotics
- Experience designing and building physical hardware through coursework, internships, research, or projects
- CAD experience, preferably SolidWorks
- Exposure to FEA or CAE
- Hands-on shop skills and willingness to work in a lab and vehicle garage environment
- Technical documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Support mechanical engineering development of vehicles
- Design external sensor suites, compute assemblies, and vehicle interiors
- Perform structural and thermal analysis of mechanical designs
- Design, analyze, and validate systems from component through integrated vehicle levels
- Design for scalability and manufacturability
- Design, fabricate, and assemble custom test fixtures
- Perform incoming quality control including visual inspection, pressure testing, and firmware flashing
- Set up devices under test and execute test scripts
- Produce test, maintenance, safety, and process documentation
- Ensure mechanical designs meet cross-functional requirements
