About the Role

ChainGPT is hiring a hands-on Accounting Specialist to manage accounting and core finance operations across a multi-entity crypto and fiat group operating in multiple jurisdictions. The role covers close, general ledger, bookkeeping, intercompany accounting, crypto reconciliation, controls, compliance, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and treasury.

Requirements

• 6+ years in accounting, controllership, or finance operations roles.
• Prior experience in web3 or crypto companies, exchanges, or crypto-heavy operations is mandatory.
• Strong IFRS/GAAP-level technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting across multiple jurisdictions.
• Crypto-native accounting experience with wallets, exchanges, reconciliations, and audit trails.
• Strong documentation discipline, integrity, written communication, and ownership.
• Hands-on Xero experience is mandatory.
• Hands-on Cryptio experience is mandatory.
• Bookkeeping and compliance experience across the US, SVG, Panama, or UAE is a plus.
• Audit, due diligence, fundraising, additional crypto tooling, blockchain analytics, and basic SQL experience are pluses.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close across entities.
• Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, FX revaluation, and supporting schedules.
• Run close calendars, checklists, and exceptions queues.
• Keep documentation and evidence audit-ready.
• Own bookkeeping and intercompany invoicing, reconciliations, and balances.
• Lead crypto transaction accounting across wallets, exchanges, custodians, networks, and tokens.
• Maintain crypto classification rules, audit trails, gains and losses, and cost-basis schedules.
• Implement finance controls and maintain compliance calendars.
• Coordinate with accountants, auditors, tax providers, and legal counsel.
• Deliver management-ready P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance, burn, and spend reporting.
• Support budgeting and rolling forecasting.
• Maintain fiat and crypto treasury visibility and produce cash and runway reporting.

Hiring Process

Onboarding includes payroll and HR documentation, KYC verification, NDA execution, an employment contract, applicable legal requirements, and a 90-day probationary period. The position may be offered as an employee or contractor depending on location and role.
