Together Labs, Inc. is the rebranded successor to IMVU, Inc. Founded in 2004, it develops social-metaverse products that let users connect, create, socialize, customize avatars, sell virtual goods, and participate in digital economies. Its principal active platform is IMVU, which operates across web, desktop, and mobile. Together Labs has also launched or developed MetaJuice, its blockchain division; VCOIN, a transferable digital currency used within the IMVU ecosystem; and WithMe, a separate social-metaverse product described as in development.

About the Role
You will support financial reporting, monthly close activities, reconciliations, internal controls, tax reporting, and annual audit preparation. You will apply GAAP and technical accounting guidance to areas including stock-based compensation, leases, debt, revenue recognition, and cryptocurrency, while managing a small accounting team and supporting the Corporate Controller.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree with a strong academic record
- CPA is a bonus
- Proficiency in ASC 842, including reviewing contracts and applying codifications to general ledger reporting
- At least 3 years of accounting experience; 5 years preferred
- Public accounting background preferred, with a minimum of 3 years
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Analytical skills
- Knowledge of accounting systems such as NetSuite
- Advanced Excel knowledge
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
- Develop and implement efficient, accurate, and timely month-end close procedures and processes
- Ensure proper accounting for stock-based compensation, leases, debt, and ASC 606 revenue recognition under GAAP
- Partner with Human Resources and Legal to prepare payroll, tax, and equity-related entries
- Review monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with documenting and monitoring internal controls
- Assist with tax returns and corporate reporting requirements
- Assist with annual financial statement and audit-supporting schedule preparation
- Research technical accounting for cryptocurrency
- Support the Corporate Controller with ad hoc requests
