About the Role

This role focuses primarily on researching, applying for, and managing U.S. federal, state, and local tax abatements, exemptions, credits, and incentives, while also supporting tax advisory, compliance, reporting, and tax authority liaison activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of tax experience.
  • At least 4 years focused on U.S. tax abatement, credits and incentives, or property tax.
  • Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax programs.
  • Experience managing abatement or incentive applications.
  • Experience liaising with tax authorities, economic development agencies, and external advisors.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple jurisdictions and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Research applicable U.S. tax abatement, exemption, and incentive programs.
  • Manage abatement applications from eligibility analysis through compliance monitoring.
  • Track deadlines, filing requirements, and renewal obligations.
  • Gather data for applications and renewals.
  • Model savings and financial impacts.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes.
  • Maintain relationships with government agencies, economic development authorities, and external advisors.
  • Maintain a centralized abatement tracking system.
  • Prepare reports on program performance and savings.
  • Provide U.S. tax advisory support.
  • Act as the point of contact with tax authorities.
  • Support U.S. tax compliance and reporting.
  • Respond to tax notices, audits, and information requests.
  • Maintain access to tax authority portals and retrieve tax records.
