About the Role

You will lead financial control for Gibraltar, owning the month-end close, financial statements, regulatory reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, tax coordination, and compliance. You will also oversee ARQ UK’s cost-centre finances, work with auditors and advisors, and coordinate outsourced accounting activities across jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACA ACCA or CIMA
  • 5+ years of experience in financial control accounting or audit
  • Experience owning month-end close and preparing statutory-quality financial statements
  • Experience with regulated financial services entities
  • Knowledge of IFRS or UK GAAP
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Experience with complex financial models and SQL
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with multi-entity or multi-jurisdiction accounting environments
  • Experience with Gibraltar or UK regulatory reporting frameworks
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAP

Responsibilities

  • Own the month-end close process for Gibraltar
  • Review and maintain monthly P&L balance sheet and cash flow statements
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and classify transactions
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Support statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with Gibraltar regulatory reporting requirements
  • Oversee ARQ UK cost-centre financial operations
  • Review costs and analyze variances
  • Monitor budgets versus actuals and escalate material variances
  • Coordinate financial data gathering with UK stakeholders
  • Contribute to annual budgeting
  • Prepare rolling forecasts and financial performance commentary
  • Develop financial models for business decisions and scenario planning
  • Design and maintain internal controls
  • Coordinate outsourced accounting providers
  • Ensure accurate tax calculation provisioning and payment
  • Monitor Gibraltar and UK regulatory compliance
