About the Role
You will provide full-cycle accounting support for multiple property-management regions. You will prepare financial statements, reports, reconciliations, client distributions, and tax reporting; maintain ledgers; monitor billing and cash activity; and support audits, monthly closes, and ad hoc projects.
Requirements
- 3+ years of real estate accounting experience
- Proficiency with Excel and Google Suite products
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Must be located in Dallas, Texas
Responsibilities
- Provide daily accounting functions for multiple regions
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare weekly and monthly client distributions
- Review and maintain general ledger accuracy
- Post general ledger activity and reconcile balance sheets and subsidiary ledgers
- Support monthly closes, distributions, and ad hoc projects
- Monitor cash receipts, tenant billings, billing adjustments, and tenant ledger reconciliations
- Review invoice coding and workflow for capitalization-policy compliance and timely vendor payments
- Coordinate with departments to ensure accurate and complete financial packages
- Research historical cash transactions and respond to Portfolio Managers and Regional Directors
- Provide accounting support for internal and external auditors
- Research state accounting laws and regulations
- Assist with annual 1099 and 1096 reporting to vendors and the IRS
- Assist with quarterly 592 and 588 filings to the Franchise Tax Board
