About the Role
You will support monthly close activities for compute cost of revenue, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid amortization, true-ups, and supporting schedules. You will reconcile GPU utilization, vendor invoices, contracted capacity, and general-ledger data; investigate discrepancies; and prepare schedules and technical accounting support. You will help evaluate vendor agreements, validate cost-data pipelines, support audits, and automate scalable cost-accounting processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–6 years of relevant accounting or finance experience, including cost accounting or cost of revenue
- Knowledge of cost allocation concepts, including direct cost attribution and overhead allocation
- Ability to work with large datasets and reconcile information across multiple systems
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Communication skills for translating cost-accounting requirements into practical guidance
Responsibilities
- Support the monthly close for compute cost of revenue, including cloud cost journal entries, usage accruals, prepaid amortization, true-ups, and supporting schedules
- Reconcile GPU utilization data with CSP invoices, contracted capacity, and the general ledger
- Investigate utilization-to-billed variances, idle capacity, and billing discrepancies, and propose resolutions
- Maintain prepaid cloud balance schedules, classifications, amortization, and rollforwards
- Support accounting for vendor and partnership arrangements, including committed spend, prepayments, reimbursements, revenue share, and credits
- Evaluate accounting treatment for vendor agreements and capacity commitments
- Build and validate cost and utilization data pipelines with Data and Analytics teams
- Prepare technical accounting memos for cost of revenue and capitalization conclusions
- Support external audits with cost schedules, contract samples, allocation support, and auditor responses
- Automate and scale cost-accounting processes, reconciliations, and reporting
