About the Role
You will own manufacturing engineering for cold plates and thermal assemblies from NPI through mass production. You will qualify fabrication processes and suppliers, define process controls, perform failure analysis, integrate production testing, track manufacturing KPIs, and improve cost, cycle time, and quality.
Requirements
- 7+ years of manufacturing, process, or thermal systems manufacturing engineering experience with liquid cold plates or heat exchangers
- Expertise in at least two cold-plate fabrication processes including skiving, vacuum brazing, friction stir welding, diffusion bonding, gun drilling, or extrusion-based channel formation
- Knowledge of aluminum and copper alloys, braze alloys, and metallurgical failure modes
- Experience with process capability studies for leak rate, flatness, pressure drop, and thermal resistance
- Experience with helium leak testing, hydrostatic pressure testing, flow characterization, and flatness measurement
- Experience with DFM or DFY reviews for liquid-cooling designs
- Experience resolving cold-plate manufacturing defects
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and thermal component suppliers
- Knowledge of liquid-cooling architectures
- Technical documentation skills including PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, and first-article inspection reports
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
Responsibilities
- Own manufacturing engineering for thermal components and assemblies from NPI through mass production
- Develop and qualify cold-plate fabrication processes
- Define process parameters, controls, acceptance criteria, and capability benchmarks
- Drive design-for-manufacturing reviews for liquid-cooling designs
- Lead process qualification and first-article inspection at supplier sites
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action for manufacturing defects
- Evaluate and qualify suppliers and manufacturing technologies
- Monitor yield, leak rate, flatness, cycle time, rework rate, and cost
- Integrate pressure, flow, and thermal performance testing into production lines
- Build manufacturing dashboards and reporting
- Improve cold-plate cost, cycle time, and quality through DOE and process optimization
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- $500 monthly credit for waiving medical benefits
- $2,500 monthly housing subsidy for eligible employees
- Relocation support to San Jose
- Wellness benefits
- Daily office lunch and dinner
