About the Role
You will develop and optimize the physical infrastructure for large-scale AI deployments. You will define system architectures for power, cooling, IT equipment, controls, and facilities; build digital twins and computational models; use operational data to improve efficiency and reliability; and support design reviews, commissioning, testing, and deployment analysis.
Requirements
- Significant experience designing or optimizing hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, or comparable infrastructure systems.
- Knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems, including power distribution, backup power, thermal management, liquid cooling, heat rejection, controls, and monitoring.
- Experience making system-level design decisions across engineering disciplines.
- Experience with simulation, optimization, digital twins, or physics-based modeling for physical infrastructure.
- Understanding of PUE, WUE, utilization, capacity, reliability, and total cost of ownership.
- Experience using operational telemetry to improve designs.
- Ability to evaluate performance, reliability, cost, schedule, scalability, sustainability, and maintainability tradeoffs.
- Ability to lead technical work in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
Responsibilities
- Define system-level architectures for high-density AI data centers.
- Develop digital twins and computational models for data center systems.
- Analyze design and operational data to improve efficiency, capacity, reliability, cost, and deployment schedules.
- Evaluate electrical, cooling, rack-density, redundancy, controls, and maintainability tradeoffs.
- Translate AI hardware requirements into facility, rack, power, and thermal architectures.
- Establish reusable reference architectures, modeling standards, and validation methodologies.
- Integrate telemetry into modeling and optimization workflows.
- Lead technical reviews and recommend quantitative design changes.
- Support pilots, commissioning, performance testing, and post-deployment analysis.
- Shape the physical-infrastructure product and engineering-services roadmap.
