Required and preferred rules are kept separate and reflect the wording in the original posting.

About the Role

You will establish and run an NPI site for prototype and validation builds. You will define assembly, integration, rework, and test processes; drive design-for-manufacturing reviews; manage design transfers to contract manufacturers; lead failure analysis and RMA recovery; and use process data to stabilize launches and production ramps.

Requirements

  • Hands-on manufacturing, process, or NPI engineering experience taking hardware products from prototype to volume.
  • Ability to create documented, repeatable build and test processes.
  • Experience with debug, failure analysis, root-cause analysis, and issue closure.
  • Knowledge of ownership structures, phase gates, and exit criteria.
  • Ability to communicate with internal teams and external contract manufacturers.
  • Eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology.

Responsibilities

  • Stand up and run the NPI site for EVT and DVT builds.
  • Define and maintain process specifications for assembly, integration, rework, and test.
  • Drive DFM, DFA, and tolerance reviews during design.
  • Establish build-readiness and phase-exit criteria from EVT through mass production.
  • Own design transfer to contract manufacturers, including tooling, documentation, and line readiness.
  • Lead failure analysis and RMA recovery.
  • Set process-capability targets and track performance using SPC, DOE, and yield data.
