About the Role
You will develop, optimize, and maintain Surface Mount Technology production processes. You will resolve process issues, improve line efficiency and yield, implement process controls, support new product introductions, maintain process documentation, and provide technical guidance to operators and technicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in a detailed manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of SMT processes including solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, and automated inspection
- Analytical and problem-solving skills using a structured, data-driven approach
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly principles
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma process optimization methodologies
- Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement SMT production processes that meet product design specifications and quality requirements
- Analyze and optimize existing SMT processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance yield
- Troubleshoot process-related production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Conduct process capability studies and implement Statistical Process Control techniques
- Partner with R&D, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance on new product introductions and process stability
- Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and best practices
- Provide technical training, guidance, and day-to-day support to production operators and technicians
- Stay current on SMT best practices, technologies, and equipment advancements
