About the Role
You will lead tax diligence and planning for M&A transactions, design global tax structures, and oversee Canadian tax compliance. You will advise on commercial arrangements, coordinate external advisors, monitor tax developments, and assess their effects on tax positions and planning opportunities.
Requirements
- JD designation
- 5–8 years of Canadian tax, international tax, or M&A tax experience
- Expertise in Canadian income tax, transfer pricing, and cross-border tax planning
- Experience managing complex tax projects
- Technology or AI sector experience
- Knowledge of global tax principles and international tax treaties
- Working knowledge of Canadian and global indirect tax systems
- Excel, Google Sheets, and tax research tool proficiency
Responsibilities
- Lead tax due diligence and planning for M&A transactions
- Design global tax-planning structures
- Optimize Canadian and foreign tax positions and transfer pricing
- Oversee Canadian income-tax planning, compliance, and filings
- Advise legal and business stakeholders on tax implications
- Monitor global tax developments and assess their impact
