About the Role
You will lead high-fidelity modeling, simulation, performance analysis, and control-system development for propulsion and aerospace programs. You will define architectures and algorithms, conduct studies, support customers and reviews, validate models, lead trade studies, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance
- Ten to fifteen years of modeling, simulation, control systems, or algorithm-development experience in aerospace or defense
- Expertise in dynamic modeling, control-system design, and simulation architecture
- Experience with propulsion performance modeling and solid rocket motors
- Experience with physics-based mechanical, thermal, and aerodynamic modeling
- Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field
- Mastery of MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or equivalent tools
- Knowledge of classical, modern, and state-space control techniques
- SysML diagram generation skills
Responsibilities
- Lead high-fidelity system model and control algorithm development
- Develop simulation architectures for aerospace control systems
- Perform controllability, Monte Carlo, and sensitivity studies
- Architect control-system topologies and gain-tuning methods
- Lead propulsion performance and ballistics modeling
- Model actuation systems and closed-loop control architectures
- Develop estimation techniques and advanced control schemes
- Perform flight-vehicle control simulation and analysis
- Guide modeling and simulation strategies for programs and proposals
- Interface with customers and support milestone reviews
- Mentor junior engineers
- Author and review technical documentation
- Ensure verification, validation, and configuration control of models
- Lead technical trade studies and technology maturation planning
