About the Role
You will design, implement, and test feedback, control, and actuation strategies for fully loaded autonomous trucks. You will characterize vehicle systems, develop models for planning and simulation, address redundant and fail-safe operation, and produce requirements, test plans, documentation, and integrated testing.
Requirements
- Background in robotics, controls, optimization, and mathematics
- Experience developing, testing, and tuning controllers for mobile autonomous robots
- Experience with system identification, modeling, simulation, or complex-dynamics characterization
- Theoretical and practical experience in controls, system modeling, or redundant architectures
- Focus on end-to-end vehicle safety
- Production-level C or C++ development experience
Responsibilities
- Design and implement feedback, control, and actuation strategies
- Architect, develop, and test reliable, redundant, safety-critical vehicle-control software
- Characterize steering, braking, throttle, engine-management, and vehicle-dynamics systems
- Develop models for motion planning, simulation, and controls
- Solve problems in redundant actuation, degraded operation, and fail-safe control
- Create requirements, test plans, test documentation, and integrated testing
