About the Role
You will set architecture and technical direction for agentic commerce. You will build purchasing experiences, merchant integrations, agent-facing APIs, authorization controls, and post-purchase lifecycle systems. You will ensure transactions are secure and reliable, lead cross-team delivery, mentor engineers, and deliver incremental customer value.
Requirements
- Staff-level technical leadership on complex customer-facing products or platforms
- Hands-on engineering and system design skills in API design, data modeling, and distributed workflows
- Experience building third-party integrations and handling asynchronous events and partial failures
- Product judgment for simplifying complex workflows
- Security knowledge covering authentication, authorization, credentials, and sensitive data
- Ability to align cross-functional partners and document technical decisions
- Experience mentoring engineers
- Ability to use AI-assisted development tools responsibly
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end purchasing experiences through Replit Agent
- Build extensible integrations with merchants, software vendors, and service providers
- Extend payment integrations for purchasing experiences
- Design secure agent-facing APIs and tools with scoped permissions and spending limits
- Support enterprise purchasing controls, approval workflows, and auditable transaction histories
- Own provisioning, order and subscription state, receipts, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and reconciliation
- Ensure reliable transactions through idempotency, verified events, durable state, retries, and recovery
- Lead cross-team initiatives, mentor engineers, and own production systems
