About the Role
You will research and prototype new technology across mechanical disciplines. You will lead subsystem design from concept through production, work with electrical and software specialists, balance performance and manufacturability, and use simulation and analysis to validate designs.
Requirements
- Mechanical engineering fundamentals, including statics, dynamics, materials, and heat transfer
- CAD proficiency and experience managing complex mechanical assemblies
- Experience with failure analysis, root cause investigation, and production design changes
- Ability to manage technical trade-offs
- Hands-on development, testing, and debugging experience
- At least 4 to 6 years of related experience, or an advanced degree with 2 or more years of experience
- Ability to lead designs through the full development cycle
- Eligibility to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Support brainstorming and prototyping of new technology
- Partner with electrical engineers, software engineers, and subject-matter experts
- Lead mechanical design for key subsystems from concept through production
- Balance performance, manufacturability, and reliability requirements
- Use simulation and analysis tools to guide decisions and validate designs
