About the Role
You will support new product introduction and volume production for complex hardware products. You will connect design, testing, quality, and supply chain decisions with manufacturing outcomes, provide design-for-manufacturability feedback, work with contract manufacturers, improve yield, analyze production data, and resolve L6 and L10 manufacturing issues.
Requirements
- Fault diagnosis, problem-solving, and failure-analysis skills
- Experience with ICT to SMT debugging
- Thorough understanding of PCB assembly processes
- Understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies
- Working knowledge of L10 mechanical design and system build
- Ability to connect silicon, package, and PCB interactions into design-for-manufacturability feedback
- Experience with continuous improvement methods including SPC and DOE
- Interpersonal skills for supplier-facing, cross-functional, and cross-regional engineering work
- Legal right to work in the UK
Responsibilities
- Support NPI development and volume production
- Connect design, test, quality, and supply chain decisions with manufacturing outcomes
- Provide design-for-manufacturability feedback for PCB and system design
- Work with contract manufacturers during NPI and early volume manufacture
- Drive yield improvement
- Analyze production data
- Resolve L6 and L10 manufacturing issues
- Engage suppliers across Bristol, Cambridge, and Taiwan
- Improve manufacturing performance through engineering judgment and data
