About the Role

You will transform customer requirements into production-ready 3D models and detailed drawings for modular integrated buildings and power distribution equipment. You will create fabrication drawings, technical documentation, bills of materials, assembly instructions, manuals, and as-built drawings; apply codes and standards; conduct design reviews; support manufacturability improvements; manage engineering changes; and collaborate with sales, project management, purchasing, and manufacturing to resolve technical problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline
  • 3-5+ years of experience in mechanical design
  • Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
  • Strong knowledge of metals and fabrication materials and manufacturing methods
  • Working knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and UL listings
  • Ability to apply first-principles engineering problem solving
  • Experience with engineered-to-order power distribution equipment is preferred
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Design modular integrated buildings, low-voltage switchboards, medium-voltage switchgear, and power distribution equipment
  • Develop specification sheets, bills of materials, assembly instructions, and manufacturing documents
  • Deliver shop drawings, product submittals, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings
  • Ensure designs comply with regulatory requirements, commercial codes, customer specifications, and engineering standards
  • Participate in model reviews and drawing checks
  • Participate in DFMA and DFx reviews
  • Execute Engineering Change Orders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical problems
  • Implement improvements to design procedures and methodologies
