About the Role

You optimize production facilities and processes by designing plant layouts, analyzing production data, conducting time studies, and improving throughput. You support capacity planning, DFMA reviews, work instruction development, tooling and fixturing, real-time manufacturing issue resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement across the production floor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
  • 2-4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience in complex assembly or electromechanical environments is preferred
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software, including SolidWorks and SketchUp
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly processes
  • Data-driven manufacturing problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours or more daily
  • Participation in a required drug and alcohol program
  • Plant Simulation experience is a bonus
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Six Sigma certification is a bonus
  • Experience with ERP or MRP software is a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Design and update manufacturing floor layouts
  • Optimize material flow and space utilization
  • Analyze production data and conduct time studies
  • Identify bottlenecks and improve production throughput
  • Improve First Pass Yield and Overall Process Effectiveness
  • Calculate production capacity and resource requirements
  • Participate in DFMA reviews
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and assembly instructions
  • Design and procure manufacturing aids, jigs, and fixtures
  • Resolve manufacturing issues in real time
  • Lead root cause analysis for defects and process deviations
  • Drive safety, quality, and efficiency improvements
