About the Role
You optimize manufacturing facilities by designing plant layouts, analyzing production data, improving throughput, planning capacity, supporting DFMA and NPI activities, creating SOPs and assembly instructions, designing tooling and fixtures, resolving production issues, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
- 4-6+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience in complex assembly or electromechanical manufacturing preferred
- Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software including SolidWorks and SketchUp
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping
- Knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly processes
- Data-driven manufacturing problem-solving ability
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk for 8 hours or more daily
- Plant Simulation experience is a bonus
- Green Belt or Black Belt Six Sigma certification is a bonus
- ERP or MRP experience is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Design and update manufacturing floor layouts
- Analyze production data and perform time studies
- Implement process improvements to balance assembly lines
- Identify improvements in First Pass Yield and Overall Process Effectiveness
- Calculate production capacity and resource requirements
- Participate in DFMA reviews
- Develop and maintain SOPs and assembly instructions
- Identify, design, and procure manufacturing aids, jigs, and fixtures
- Resolve manufacturing issues in real time
- Lead root cause analysis for defects and process deviations
- Drive safety, quality, and efficiency improvements
