About the Role
You will develop and validate aircraft structural and aerodynamic load envelopes from clean-sheet design through flight test. You will lead maneuver, gust, landing, ground-load, and aeroelastic analyses; support structural sizing; correlate test data; and document traceable loads methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of aircraft loads and aeroelastic analysis experience
- Proficiency with FEMAP, NASTRAN, MATLAB, or relevant simulation environments
- Understanding of aircraft flight envelopes, control surface effects, and structural load paths
- Experience supporting design and test phases with load predictions
- Documentation, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Develop aerodynamic and structural load envelopes for the full vehicle
- Lead maneuver, gust, landing, and ground loads analyses
- Define load cases with GNC, aerodynamics, and structural teams
- Develop and validate loads models
- Support structural sizing through load maps and V-n diagrams
- Conduct aeroelastic stability assessments
- Maintain traceability across ICDs, FEA models, and design documents
- Support strain gauge placement, instrumentation plans, and in-flight data correlation
- Author and present loads documentation
- Refine loads methodologies and automation
