About the Role

You will design, implement, tune, and validate actuator- and joint-level controllers for robotic systems. You will model mechanisms, integrate sensors and hardware, build real-time C++ control software, maintain supporting tools, and debug networking, safety, and control-system behavior.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Control Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years in robotic or mechatronic systems
  • Experience shipping real-time-safe object-oriented C++ control software on real hardware
  • Experience tuning and validating controllers on physical actuators
  • Experience debugging EtherCAT or CAN on an RTOS or real-time Linux
  • Strong control theory foundation applied to multi-DoF mechanisms, Jacobians, numerical IK/FK, and URDF/Xacro

Responsibilities

  • Tune and validate actuator- and joint-space control loops in ROS2
  • Ensure deterministic real-time operation across EtherCAT, CAN, and Linux networking
  • Implement safety and fault-handling mechanisms
  • Build actuator, transmission, and mechanism models for control design and simulation
  • Apply kinematics, dynamics, and numerical IK/FK methods
  • Write real-time-safe object-oriented C++ control and diagnostic software
  • Maintain CMake tooling, Python test harnesses, and browser-based debugging tools
  • Integrate and calibrate sensors across the control stack
  • Perform hardware bring-up, calibration, debugging, and performance testing
  • Collaborate on actuation requirements with mechanical and electronics engineers

Benefits

  • Extended health benefits from the first day, including fully paid medical and dental, virtual care, employee and family assistance, and worldwide emergency medical support
  • 23 days of annual leave
  • 15 days of paid sick leave
  • Paid company holidays
  • Stock options
  • Free daily catered lunch, snacks, and drinks in-office
