About the Role
You will develop and maintain physical infrastructure cabling standards, specifications, and operating procedures for data center deployments. You will guide internal stakeholders and suppliers, qualify new connectivity products, support design reviews and site deployments, and improve installation quality, cost, capacity, and connectivity performance.
Requirements
- 10+ years of data center cabling infrastructure engineering, connectivity architecture, and physical-layer design experience
- Knowledge of fiber-optic and copper cabling systems, termination methods, cable plant architecture, and high-density interconnect solutions
- Experience developing installation standards, component specifications, and cabling architectures for hyperscale or large enterprise environments
- Vendor, OEM, and supply chain engagement experience
- Ability to lead cross-functional engineering, construction, and operations initiatives
- Documentation, analytical, and communication skills
- Familiarity with TIA/EIA, BICSI, and IEC standards
- Ability to read, create, and modify technical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Physical Infrastructure Cabling Standards documentation, specifications, and SOPs and MOPs
- Ensure adherence to cabling standards across global data center infrastructure
- Develop and publish operational dashboards, metrics, KPIs, project status, and issue reporting
- Serve as the cabling standards subject-matter expert for internal teams
- Manage relationships with manufacturers and suppliers
- Review and develop bills of materials with suppliers
- Research and adopt emerging cabling technologies
- Drive qualification and production implementation of new connectivity products and standards
- Provide cabling guidance during design reviews and data center builds
- Conduct site visits and resolve cabling-related issues
- Perform quality control and quality assurance across deployments
- Track cost, installation time, capacity utilization, and connectivity performance
