About the Role
You serve as the primary point of accountability for commissioning activities across assigned data center projects. You own the commissioning lifecycle from factory witness testing through integrated systems testing and formal turnover, ensuring electrical and EPMS systems align with design intent, Owner Project Requirements, and operational readiness standards. You review technical documentation, oversee commissioning agents and vendors, validate testing, resolve issues, coordinate stakeholders, support operational handover, and enforce safety and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data center commissioning, construction, or critical infrastructure delivery
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent commissioning experience
- Knowledge of commissioning levels L1 through L5 and related documentation and testing requirements
- Hands-on experience with data center power distribution and EPMS infrastructure
- Experience managing third-party commissioning agents and vendors
- Ability to review construction drawings, single-line diagrams, submittals, and test procedures
- Cross-functional coordination skills
- Experience with issue tracking, risk management, and project reporting
- Understanding of safety and compliance requirements in construction and commissioning environments
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required, with 75% travel
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site electrical subject matter expert for commissioning activities
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and O&M documentation
- Maintain alignment between Owner Project Requirements and commissioning scope
- Oversee third-party commissioning agents and track deliverables
- Coordinate equipment factory testing with procurement and vendors
- Validate factory test procedures and oversee Factory Witness Testing
- Review and approve commissioning plans, test scripts, reports, and turnover packages
- Oversee quality control inspections and installation validation
- Drive issue identification, troubleshooting, remediation, and closure
- Ensure static and dynamic testing aligns with approved plans and performance standards
- Coordinate construction, engineering, controls, and operations teams
- Define commissioning processes, roles, and stakeholder engagement levels
- Ensure commissioning documentation supports project turnover
- Support the transition to operations with technical guidance and training coordination
- Enforce safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements
