About the Role
You will define the architecture and roadmap for power delivery from the data-center power drop to systems and chips. You will guide rack-level hardware and firmware design, establish power policies, improve reliability and efficiency, address grid disturbances, develop and test prototypes, resolve power issues, advise manufacturers and engineering teams, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with specialized knowledge of Power Engineering
- Demonstrated ability in power system and delivery architecture, design, and development
- Experience with rack-level hardware design for servers, storage, networking, and power distribution
- Proficiency in power hardware and firmware development and debugging
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, planning, and design for power delivery from the data-center power drop to systems and chips
- Establish the power roadmap and align vendor technologies with system-engineering requirements
- Specify rack-level power-shelf hardware and firmware and design for resiliency
- Set data-center power policies for buffering, oversubscription, job scheduling, monitoring, and fault accommodation
- Resolve telemetry and data requirements for power-policy algorithms
- Ensure IT power robustness during grid disturbances and compatibility with grid requirements
- Apply VRM, TLDR, and POL technologies to board- and system-level power regulation
- Develop technologies that improve power efficiency
- Guide manufacturers, ODMs, and engineering teams on testing and validation procedures
- Develop and test hardware prototypes for power-delivery concepts
- Resolve complex power hardware and firmware issues
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
