About the Role
You will design and release primary and secondary aircraft structural components from concept through production. You will create CAD models, drawings, interface definitions, and analysis reports; support stress analysis and structural testing; collaborate on airframe integration; and resolve manufacturing and flight-test issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
- 8+ years of aircraft structural design or related aerospace structures experience
- Experience designing and releasing structural components in development or production environments
- Knowledge of composite and metallic structures, fasteners, bonded joints, and load paths
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stackups, and DFMA principles
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-ownership engineering environments
Responsibilities
- Design and develop structural components and assemblies for next-generation UAV platforms
- Execute conceptual development, CAD modeling, detailed design, and drawing release
- Perform stress and strain hand calculations and basic FEA analysis
- Collaborate on airframe system integration
- Support coupon, subcomponent, and system-level structural validation
- Generate aerospace-compliant design documentation and reports
- Resolve build issues with manufacturing and flight-test teams
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
- Improve expertise in structural layout, joints, fasteners, tolerancing, and optimization
