About the Role

You will design torque-dense robotic actuators and integrate motors, bearings, encoders, and drives. You will develop gearbox designs, create CAD models and production drawings, select materials and processes, lead prototyping, design for high-volume production, validate mechanical performance, conduct risk assessments, and maintain engineering documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of mechanical design experience for robotics electromechanical systems or complex hardware
• 3+ years of planetary cycloidal or strain wave actuator design experience
• Knowledge of mechanics statics dynamics and material science
• SolidWorks NX or similar CAD proficiency
• GD&T knowledge based on ASME Y14.5
• Experience designing precision mechanical assemblies or mechanisms
• Knowledge of CNC machining additive manufacturing and injection molding
• Experience building assembling and testing mechanical prototypes

Responsibilities

• Design torque-dense robotic actuators
• Specify and integrate motors bearings encoders and drives
• Develop strain wave and planetary gearbox designs
• Create CAD models and production drawings using GD&T
• Select materials and manufacturing methods
• Lead rapid prototyping and iteration
• Design components for high-volume production
• Integrate actuators and sensors into robotic platforms
• Conduct mechanical testing and validation
• Perform design reviews risk assessments and safety analysis
• Maintain engineering drawings specifications and BOMs
• Own mechanical subsystems from concept through deployment
