About the Role
You will design aircraft structural components from concept through production release. You will create CAD models and drawings, perform structural calculations, support validation testing, work across airframe interfaces, resolve build issues with manufacturing and flight-test teams, and contribute to design reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
- 8+ years of aircraft structural-design or related aerospace-structures experience
- Experience designing and releasing structural components in development or production
- Knowledge of composite and metallic structures, fasteners, bonded joints, and load paths
- Proficiency with CAD tools
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and DFMA principles
- Technical communication skills
Responsibilities
- Design and develop primary and secondary UAV structural components and assemblies
- Execute conceptual development, CAD modeling, detailed design, and drawing release
- Perform stress and strain calculations and basic FEA analysis
- Collaborate with aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, payload, and manufacturing teams on system integration
- Support coupon, subcomponent, and system-level structural validation
- Generate design documentation, drawings, interface definitions, and analysis reports
- Resolve build issues and support hardware through test and deployment
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
- Develop technical depth in structural layout, joints, fasteners, tolerancing, and optimization
