About the Role
The Staff Accountant will join Formic’s Finance team and support audit requests, the 2026 audit cycle, month-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, reporting schedules, maintenance cost tracking, inventory management, process improvements, and accounting documentation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting, month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Experience supporting financial audits, audit readiness, or external auditor requests.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including supporting schedules and account reconciliations.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive work to completion.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, analytical ability, and follow-through.
- Strong project management skills.
- Preferred: experience with NetSuite or similar accounting systems.
- Preferred: experience improving close processes, accounting documentation, or audit support workflows.
- Preferred: experience in a fast-paced environment with evolving systems and processes.
Responsibilities
- Respond to auditor requests and coordinate supporting materials across systems and stakeholders.
- Support preparation for the 2026 audit cycle by creating scalable, repeatable processes.
- Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Support internal and management financial reporting activities.
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies, open items, and process gaps.
- Maintain cost reporting and tracking and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with the Supply Chain Manager on inventory management processes and quarterly inventory counts.
- Improve reconciliations, accruals, expense classification, close management, and documentation processes.
- Create and maintain documentation for recurring accounting processes.
