About the Role

You will build the software foundations for whole-body robot control and manipulation. You will develop state estimation, kinematics, robot models, system identification, sensor conditioning, diagnostics, and calibration procedures. You will create real-time interfaces and investigate hardware and software failures to improve safe robot operation.

Requirements

• Experience shipping state estimation or control software for physical robots or comparable electromechanical systems
• Experience implementing and tuning EKF, UKF, invariant, or complementary filters using noisy hardware sensor data
• Applied knowledge of rigid-body kinematics, frame transforms, inverse kinematics, and dynamics
• Experience with system identification and calibration of actuators, transmissions, or sensors
• Proficiency in production-quality real-time C++ on Linux
• Python experience for tooling and analysis
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent advanced-degree and hands-on experience

Responsibilities

• Develop state estimation for pose, velocity, joint state, contact, and force or torque signals
• Own robot models, coordinate frames, inverse kinematics, and command trajectory generation
• Characterize actuators, tendons, and transmissions through system identification
• Condition raw sensor signals through filtering, validity checks, and temporal consistency checks
• Build monitoring, limits, and fault-response mechanisms
• Support calibration and bring-up procedures across production and field operations
