About the Role

You will own high-throughput payment microservices end to end, designing, building, deploying, and operating systems for real-time financial transactions. You will integrate banking and payment partners, build reliable reconciliation workflows, maintain AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, participate in on-call operations, and lead technical decisions while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including backend and distributed systems experience.
• Experience in fintech, payments, an on-and-offramp provider, or banking infrastructure is strongly preferred.
• Experience with payment rails or card processing.
• Familiarity with LATAM banking-partner integrations.
• Hands-on Node.js expertise; TypeScript is preferred.
• Deep MongoDB experience, including schema design, aggregation pipelines, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Redis proficiency, including caching, distributed locks, rate limiting, and pub/sub.
• Experience designing and operating microservices architectures, REST, gRPC, event-driven systems, service discovery, and API contracts.
• CI/CD experience using Jenkins.
• AWS knowledge, including ECS, EKS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, and CloudWatch.
• Understanding of idempotency, eventual consistency, retries, circuit breaking, and failure isolation.
• Experience owning a production service or domain end to end, including on-call responsibility.
• Written communication skills for design documents, RFCs, and technical trade-off discussions.

Responsibilities

• Own, design, build, deploy, and operate Node.js payment microservices.
• Design traceable, auditable, recoverable, idempotent, and retry-safe transaction systems.
• Architect scalable and resilient distributed microservices.
• Drive banking, card, and risk-provider integrations, including API contracts, webhooks, production rollout, and reconciliation.
• Integrate Argentine banking infrastructure, including CBU/CVU transfers and COELSA/BCRA clearing systems.
• Build reconciliation systems for ARS transactions and multi-FX settlement environments.
• Build and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and rollback procedures.
• Operate AWS infrastructure and contribute to infrastructure as code, monitoring, alerting, and runbooks.
• Optimize MongoDB schemas and queries, Redis caching, rate limiting, and transactional data migrations.
• Participate in on-call incident response and postmortems.
• Lead technical roadmaps, write design documents and RFCs, and drive cross-functional consensus.
• Review code and designs, mentor engineers, and support hiring.
• Uphold security and compliance practices for PII and financial data.
