About the Role
You will develop, optimize, and maintain Surface Mount Technology production processes. You will solve process issues, improve line efficiency and yield, conduct capability studies, apply process controls, maintain documentation, support new product introductions, and train production personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience as a Process Engineer in an active SMT manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, and automated inspection.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills using a structured, data-driven approach.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly principles.
- Experience with process optimization methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is highly desirable.
- Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement SMT production processes that meet product design specifications and quality requirements.
- Analyze and optimize existing SMT processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance yield.
- Troubleshoot process-related production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct process capability studies and implement Statistical Process Control techniques.
- Partner with R&D, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance on new product introductions and process stability.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and best practices.
- Provide technical training, guidance, and day-to-day support to SMT operators and technicians.
- Stay current with SMT technologies, equipment advancements, and industry best practices.
