About the Role
You will lead end-to-end Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence implementation and operations. You will configure payroll and integrations, support payroll cycles and compliance controls, manage releases, and enable stakeholders through documentation, training, reporting, and dashboards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of HRIS or payroll systems experience
- 6+ years configuring Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence
- Experience leading at least one live Workday Payroll implementation
- Workday payroll business process, calculation engine, tax configuration, retro processing, and payroll accounting expertise
- International payroll integration experience
- US payroll knowledge including multi-state taxation, FLSA, wage and hour rules, garnishments, imputed income, equity compensation withholding, and year-end processing
- SOX or audit-facing payroll control experience
- Payroll testing, documentation, parallel run, and reconciliation experience
Responsibilities
- Lead Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence implementation design, configuration, testing, cutover, and hypercare
- Configure and maintain US and Canada payroll, tax setup, deductions, garnishments, payroll accounting, and year-end processing
- Design and operate international payroll integrations and reconciliations
- Configure time tracking schedules, calculations, approvals, and state-specific rules
- Build and maintain absence plans, accruals, eligibility, carryover, and payout rules
- Own payroll-adjacent integrations and data validation
- Partner on payroll cycles, audits, retro calculations, off-cycle payments, and root-cause analysis
- Design payroll security and processes for SOX ITGC and payroll controls
- Assess Workday releases, perform regression testing, and adopt functionality that reduces manual work
- Write documentation, train users, and build self-service reports and dashboards
