About the Role

This hands-on infrastructure engineering role administers Linux and Windows servers, cloud platforms, virtualization, networking, identity, storage, backups, endpoints, automation, and cybersecurity systems while providing Tier 2/3 desktop engineering support.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or enterprise IT
  • Significant hands-on desktop engineering and Tier 2/3 end-user support experience
  • Experience designing, deploying, administering, securing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure
  • Experience administering Linux, Windows, and macOS
  • Experience with Google Workspace, AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform, virtualization platforms, enterprise networking, endpoint management, SSO, and MFA platforms
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, Wi-Fi, routing, firewalls, SSL/TLS certificates, and secure remote access
  • Experience with enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
  • Experience with endpoint security, EDR, patch management, hardening, vulnerability remediation, encryption, and compliance
  • Working knowledge of Bash and Python scripting
  • Understanding of Zero Trust, least privilege, defense in depth, identity and access management, secure configuration management, vulnerability management, incident response, and data protection
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and collaborate in a fast-paced startup environment

Responsibilities

  • Design, administer, maintain, and improve enterprise infrastructure
  • Administer RHEL and Ubuntu servers
  • Manage VMware vCenter, Proxmox, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform infrastructure
  • Administer Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, SSO, and MFA
  • Administer wireless, VPN, DNS, DHCP, firewall, network segmentation, and certificate services
  • Support enterprise storage, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity
  • Develop Bash and Python automation scripts
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, capacity, reliability, and security
  • Create architecture diagrams, configuration standards, procedures, inventories, and documentation
  • Implement secure configurations across infrastructure and endpoint platforms
  • Administer and monitor EDR platforms
  • Perform vulnerability remediation, hardening, patch management, and security reviews
  • Enforce least-privilege access and identity lifecycle management
  • Investigate security alerts, phishing incidents, endpoint threats, and suspicious activity
  • Assist with incident response, audits, evidence collection, policies, and compliance initiatives
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for Windows and macOS endpoints
  • Manage onboarding, offboarding, device provisioning, imaging, software deployment, and hardware lifecycle
  • Administer endpoint management platforms
  • Troubleshoot operating systems, applications, networking, VPN, authentication, and hardware issues
  • Maintain desktop deployment standards, support procedures, knowledge base articles, and user documentation
