About the Role

You'll play a key role in shaping the future of AlphaSense's product experience as a Staff-level individual contributor, leading through design craft, systems thinking, and a deep understanding of customer workflows. You'll drive strategic design initiatives, translating complex, data-rich problems into intuitive, high-quality experiences tailored to how customers actually work. You'll bring clarity to ambiguity, define end-to-end workflows, and ensure product experiences are cohesive, scalable, and grounded in real user needs. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and AI teams to shape how capabilities come together into meaningful user experiences, from early concept through execution, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. As a senior member of the Design team, you'll act as a multiplier, mentoring other designers, contributing to design systems and patterns, and helping raise the bar for craft and consistency across the product.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in interaction design, systems thinking, and delivering high-quality, user-centered experiences
• Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field
• Deep expertise in designing end-to-end customer workflows and simplifying complex, data-rich problems into intuitive, habit-forming product experiences
• Highly proficient in design and prototyping tools, able to communicate ideas through flows, systems, and high-fidelity prototypes
• Strong collaboration with engineering teams, with working knowledge of modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; bonus for React or similar frameworks
• Actively leverage AI to augment the design process from research and ideation to prototyping and iteration
• Strong awareness of emerging AI and search technologies
• Proven ability to lead complex projects end-to-end and navigate ambiguity
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing other designers
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills
• Experience in financial services, investment workflows, or data-heavy SaaS products is a plus

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-fidelity prototypes, interaction models, and end-to-end experiences that communicate product vision and drive strategic alignment
• Transform customer insights from interviews, surveys, and usability testing into actionable product direction
• Define and drive design strategy for key initiatives, aligning user needs, business outcomes, and product direction
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into intuitive experiences
• Contribute to the design system, evolving patterns, and shaping best practices
• Design for systems, not just screens, advancing a growing design system for consistency and scalability
• Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and AI capabilities
• Communicate complex ideas with clarity and influence across cross-functional partners
• Collaborate closely with engineering throughout development, advocating for design quality
