About the Role

You will design tactical autonomy algorithms and high-performance software for planning, decision-making, and behavior execution in dynamic environments. You will integrate rule-based and learning-based autonomy approaches, collaborate across perception, planning, simulation, hardware, and flight test, deploy capabilities to platforms, analyze mission data, and help shape the autonomy roadmap.

Requirements

• 10 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 9 years with a master's degree, or 7 years with a PhD
• Proficiency in C++ and Python
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems
• Background in robotics motion planning, behavior modeling, decision-making, or autonomous-system design
• Experience with unmanned-system technologies and air-domain algorithms
• Experience with AFSIM or NGTS simulation environments
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Design tactical autonomy algorithms for unmanned aircraft
• Develop high-performance planning, decision-making, and behavior-execution software
• Implement and test multi-agent behavior architectures
• Integrate rule-based autonomy with machine-learning and reinforcement-learning methods
• Collaborate with perception, planning, simulation, hardware, and flight-test teams
• Deploy and validate autonomy capabilities through field tests and flight demonstrations
• Analyze mission logs and performance data
• Research, prototype, and roadmap new autonomy algorithms
• Adapt autonomy solutions to program, compliance, and operational needs
• Travel to offices, customer sites, and flight integration events
