About the Role
You will evaluate and strengthen the safety and reliability of autonomous trucking systems. You will lead SOTIF assessments, identify functional insufficiencies and triggering conditions, define safety improvements and acceptance criteria, develop verification and validation targets, and communicate safety metrics and risks to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience, or bachelor's degree with 6+ years
- Knowledge of automotive, heavy-duty truck, or aerospace industries
- Expertise in ISO 21448, ISO-PAS 8800, and ISO 26262
- Project management and leadership skills
- Risk assessment and verification and validation strategy skills
- Communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Ensure SOTIF targets are achieved in autonomous vehicle development
- Lead SOTIF evaluations and guide engineers on acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with AI and software engineers to ensure solution safety
- Identify functional insufficiencies and triggering conditions and conduct HIRE risk analyses
- Define design improvements and refine system specifications
- Evaluate design-specification completeness against SOTIF maturity standards
- Derive acceptance criteria for S>0 and C>0 analyses
- Develop verification and validation targets for known and unknown safety scenarios
- Support SOTIF operational strategies for safe vehicle deployment
- Communicate SOTIF metrics and risk assessments to stakeholders
- Integrate SOTIF considerations into autonomous-trucking specifications
