About the Role

You will own T cell immunology strategy for oncology and autoimmunity cell-therapy programs. You will design, run, and interpret primary human T-cell assays; characterize gene-editing enzymes; and define candidate-selection criteria. You will lead in vivo mouse and NHP studies with CRO partners, direct pharmacology and safety work for IND-enabling studies, contribute to regulatory filings and agency interactions, and mentor scientists while building a small team.

Requirements

  • PhD in immunology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or a related life-sciences field with substantial cell or gene therapy industry experience, or an MSc with equivalent hands-on experience
  • 6+ years post-PhD experience for Senior Scientist or 9+ years for Associate Director
  • Expertise in primary human T cell isolation, activation, expansion, transfection, transduction, and functional characterization
  • Experience with gene editing in primary immune cells and measuring editing outcomes
  • Expertise in multiparameter flow cytometry, including panel design and analysis
  • Fluency with ddPCR, qPCR, NGS library preparation, QC, and on/off-target analytics
  • Experience designing and overseeing in vivo mouse studies, including CRO management
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Own T cell immunology strategy across oncology and autoimmunity programs
  • Translate program goals into assay and study plans
  • Lead mouse and NHP studies for PK/PD, biodistribution, persistence, and immunogenicity with CRO partners
  • Drive pharmacology and safety components of IND-enabling work, including toxicology study design and CRO oversight
  • Assess biodistribution and insertional mutagenesis and author regulatory filing sections
  • Represent data in pre-IND and agency interactions, partner meetings, and internal governance
  • Design, run, and interpret in vitro potency and specificity assays in primary human T cells and cell lines
  • Mentor scientists and grow the team
