About the Role

You will support genetic perturbation screening workflows in human pluripotent stem cell-derived microglia. You will culture and differentiate stem cells, conduct lentiviral transduction experiments, characterize genetically perturbed cells using cell-based and molecular assays, maintain laboratory records and inventory tracking, troubleshoot protocols, and analyze and present data.

Requirements

  • BS degree in a relevant field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or MS degree in a relevant field with 2+ years of relevant postgraduate experience
  • Proficient stem cell and progenitor cell culturing and routine characterization skills
  • Experience running and analyzing flow cytometry experiments, including multicolor panels, immunostaining, and FlowJo analysis
  • Experience with LIMS systems
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, learn, and work collaboratively
  • Ability to work onsite in Palo Alto five days per week
  • Ability to perform occasional weekend work

Responsibilities

  • Execute routine stem cell culture and differentiation protocols
  • Conduct and optimize medium- to high-throughput lentiviral transduction experiments
  • Characterize genetically perturbed cells using flow cytometry, imaging, immunostaining, and molecular biology techniques
  • Support arrayed and pooled genetic perturbation screens
  • Maintain efficient and reproducible experimental workflows
  • Maintain records in an electronic lab notebook and track materials and reagents in LIMS
  • Troubleshoot and improve protocols and platform capabilities
  • Analyze and present data at internal meetings and seminars
