About the Role

You will perform hands-on laboratory work to functionally test and characterize novel proteins. You will maintain mammalian cell cultures, execute cell-based and high-throughput screening assays, support assay optimization, operate laboratory automation, and document reliable experimental data. You will also prepare reagents, manage supplies, and keep laboratory equipment and workspaces organized.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field with approximately 1–3 years of relevant laboratory experience, or a master’s degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience maintaining mammalian cell lines, using aseptic technique, and assessing cell viability and culture quality
  • Familiarity with high-throughput assay workflows, multiwell plate assays, multichannel pipetting, plate layouts, controls, and sample handling
  • Experience with cell-based assays and complementary techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA, fluorescence or luminescence assays, or molecular cloning
  • Experience with automated liquid handling
  • Comfort organizing and reviewing experimental data using Excel, GraphPad Prism, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with Benchling or other sample-tracking systems
  • Familiarity with Python or willingness to learn it
  • Ability to execute established protocols independently after training and collaborate on unfamiliar methods or troubleshooting

Responsibilities

  • Maintain mammalian cell cultures, including thawing, passaging, expansion, cryopreservation, and cell-health monitoring
  • Execute plate-based high-throughput screening assays using established protocols, controls, and sample tracking
  • Support assay development, optimization, reproducibility assessment, and experimental troubleshooting
  • Operate liquid handlers, plate readers, and other screening equipment
  • Maintain experimental records, track samples, and summarize results in an electronic lab notebook
  • Prepare reagents, maintain supplies, store deliveries, and organize shared laboratory equipment and workspaces

Benefits

  • Private health insurance
  • Pension/401(K) contributions
  • Generous leave policies, including gender-neutral parental leave
  • Hybrid working
  • Travel opportunities
