About the Role
You will lead technical discovery and solution design for complex warehouse-automation opportunities. You will analyze operational data, create layouts and simulation models, size and price solutions, build ROI cases, prepare proposals and presentations, and support transitions from awarded contracts to implementation.
Requirements
- Five or more years of relevant sales engineering, solutions engineering, application engineering, solution design, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or comparable customer-facing technical experience
- At least two years of experience with a material-handling systems integrator, warehouse-automation OEM, or warehouse-robotics provider
- AutoCAD experience creating or modifying conceptual warehouse layouts, equipment arrangements, material flows, and system interfaces
- Experience with discrete-event or material-flow simulation
- Experience with simulation tools such as AnyLogic, FlexSim, Simio, Emulate3D, Arena, ProModel, or comparable platforms
- Knowledge of warehouse-automation technologies
- Understanding of WMS, WES, WCS, and equipment-level controls
- Quantitative analysis, solution sizing, performance calculations, and financial-modeling experience
- Experience supporting complex multi-stakeholder automation opportunities
- Project-management, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery with customers
- Analyze operational data to define automation requirements
- Develop conceptual warehouse layouts and material flows using AutoCAD
- Build simulation models to validate throughput, capacity, queue behavior, utilization, and resource requirements
- Design and size integrated warehouse-automation solutions
- Compare solution alternatives and communicate tradeoffs, risks, assumptions, and performance
- Develop preliminary cost estimates
- Create ROI models and business cases
- Lead technical work on automation opportunities from discovery through contract award and implementation transition
- Prepare proposals, technical narratives, layouts, simulation results, calculations, and executive presentations
- Present solutions to operational, engineering, and executive stakeholders
- Support pilots and emerging product applications
- Improve solution-design methods, pricing tools, calculators, proposal templates, and technical sales processes
