About the Role
You will develop production robotics software that integrates perception, planning, and control into reliable robot behavior. You will build task orchestration and recovery logic, improve autonomy using operational data, integrate software with hardware, lead architecture decisions, and support production operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related engineering field
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building production robotics systems
- Proficiency in Rust, Python, or C++
- Ability to design, implement, and maintain complex high-reliability software systems
- Experience integrating software with sensors, actuators, and embedded systems
- Knowledge of testing, documentation, code review, and software architecture
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of robot behaviors and task-level intelligence across the robotics stack
- Integrate perception, planning, and control into end-to-end execution
- Design task orchestration and recovery behavior for nominal and edge-case scenarios
- Improve autonomy quality, task success, recovery behavior, and system reliability using operational metrics
- Collaborate on software-hardware integration for robot platforms and upgrades
- Lead technical design reviews and core subsystem architecture decisions
- Mentor engineers and technicians on reliability, testing, and operational excellence
- Triage and resolve production robotics system issues
- Support production operations through an on-call rotation
