About the Role

You will design the robot operating system and its core abstractions for robots, cameras, tools, jobs, state, and failure handling. You will integrate computer vision into production control loops, build AI-enabled robotic capabilities, coordinate fleets and factory equipment, connect planning to real-time controllers, and create simulation, tracing, and replay tools.

Requirements

• Experience working on or architecting large-scale robot software running on production hardware
• Software engineering experience with Python and Rust, or C++ with willingness to move to Rust
• Knowledge of types, testing, concurrency, and software architecture
• Experience with motion planning, path planning, multi-robot coordination, controls, perception, or scheduling
• Experience applying LLMs or vision-language models to robotics, or a strong drive to do so
• Experience using coding agents while owning their output

Responsibilities

• Architect robot operating-system abstractions and failure handling

• Build AI-enabled robotics capabilities and evaluation systems
• Route fleets of movers and coordinate factory equipment
• Design interfaces between high-level planning and real-time motor controllers
• Build simulation, tracing, and replay capabilities
• Visit factories in the US and UK
