About the Role
You will bridge software and hardware by developing and supporting firmware for robotic systems. You will bring up hardware changes, improve behavioral logic and controls algorithms, analyze robot and sensor data to diagnose failures, and build internal tools for motors and sensors.
Requirements
- 2+ years of industry experience or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of data structures, control flow, and computer systems
- Deep experience with systems programming languages such as C, C++, or Rust
- Experience with scripting or prototyping languages such as Python
- Experience with motors, controls systems, sensors, electrical fundamentals, and mechanical systems
- Experience with microcontrollers such as STM32, PIC, or ESP32
- Experience building hardware projects such as robots, PCBs, or 3D-printed components
- Multi-disciplinary team and leadership experience
- Attention to edge cases and testing
Responsibilities
- Bring up and support electrical and mechanical hardware changes
- Update device drivers and implement tests for new hardware systems
- Design and improve behavioral logic and controls algorithms for physical systems
- Analyze robot logs, motor data, and sensor data to debug hardware failures
- Build internal tooling to interface with motors and sensors
