About the Role
You will lead technical investigations into V-BAT field failures and repeat defects. You will analyze hardware, logs, test and maintenance data, determine root causes, verify corrective actions, identify reliability trends, and recommend design, process, maintenance, and fleet-level improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintainability engineering, failure analysis, systems engineering, quality engineering, or related fields
- Experience conducting technical investigations for field failures or complex product performance issues
- Experience driving root cause and corrective action investigations
- Ability to analyze hardware, software behavior, logs, test data, and maintenance records
- Knowledge of failure-analysis methods such as 5 Whys, fault tree analysis, 8D, FMEA/FMECA, FRACAS, or fault isolation
- Systems-level problem-solving skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain a Secret DoD security clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead investigations into V-BAT field failures, repeat defects, and technical escalations
- Drive root cause and corrective action investigations through closure
- Reproduce and analyze field issues using logs, hardware, test data, and maintenance records
- Conduct returned-material analysis, teardown reviews, bench testing, and failure replication
- Document failure modes, root causes, containment actions, and corrective actions
- Identify reliability and maintainability trends from field and maintenance data
- Recommend tests, inspections, diagnostics, design changes, and maintenance updates
- Provide technical recommendations for containment, repair, retrofit, and fleet mitigation
- Communicate investigation findings and verification status to stakeholders
- Improve field-failure review, FRACAS, RCCA, and reliability-growth processes
