Senior Mechanical Engineer Power Electronics Packaging

About the Role

You will lead the mechanical architecture and packaging of power distribution boards and control systems, from concept through mass production. You will design enclosures and harness routing, resolve thermal and sealing challenges, conduct engineering analyses, validate designs, produce manufacturing documentation, and support supplier DFM and DFA work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
• At least six years designing electromechanical assemblies, electronic enclosures, and wire harnesses for moving platforms
• CAD proficiency
• Experience with validation tools
• Knowledge of PLM systems
• Understanding of heat transfer, structural design, material selection, fluids, and GD&T
• Experience bringing prototypes to mass production
• Knowledge of materials for electronic enclosures, gaskets, and grommets
• Experience developing test plans and conducting root-cause analysis
• Understanding of electrical design, PCBA, components, and manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

• Own electronic-enclosure design from concept through mass production
• Resolve electrical isolation, sealing, thermal, vibration, and electromagnetic-interference challenges
• Run thermal, CFD, and structural analyses
• Define validation tests, conduct root-cause analysis, and plan mitigations
• Create drawings and manufacturing documentation
• Ensure part and assembly manufacturability
• Lead supplier DFM discussions and conduct DFA analysis
